Description : This course focuses on practical problems encountered in industrial processes and involving soft matter systems. The aims of the course are first to offer a view of the field of applications of soft matter physics (materials: wetting, coating, 3D printing, cosmetics, food, environmental applications: soil remediations, water treatment) and, second, to provide insight on problems related to flows and/or transfers that are frequently encountered in industry. Processes of liquid deposition on solid surfaces will be in particular considered and related questions such as flows in confined media, drying of complex liquids, Marangoni effects… will be addressed.
