Description : In this course, we will review the situations in which interfacial dynamics affect liquid shape and flow. In particular, we will describe thin films, drops and bubbles behaviour, capillary and Marangoni driven flows as well as interfacial instabilities. We will also consider how and when soft matter at interfaces can affect their characteristics. In the last part of the course, we will consider morphogenesis and pattern formation, bridging physical systems and biological systems. We will address the following topics : from interfacial instabilities to form ; reaction-diffusion and population dynamics ; mechanical instabilities and buckling ; cellular organisation, from liquid foams to tissues.
