Courses : Pierre Cladé}

This course constitutes a first introduction to computational physics. A first lecture will be devoted to obtain familiarity with the command-line interaction with the computer, installation of relevant softwares, etc.
In the first part of the course, the treatment of signals, for instance via Fourier transforms, will be discussed.
In the second part, we will introduce some simple examples of simulations of physical systems, such as the solar system or a simple model for the ferromagnetic transition.
During the course, we will introduce different coding languages: from standard languages such as C, to more abstract languages such as Python, C++ and Matlab. We will discuss the advantages and drawbacks of each of these languages.
