Description

This course gives an overview of the major achievements in nanophotonics. Revisiting the basics of light-matter interaction in condensed matter, we will explore both recent fundamental research and technological developments in nanoscience and photonics. A large emphasis will be put on the discusssion of seminal experimental results.

Indicative list of topics :

- light-matter interaction in condensed matter (excitons, polaritons, plasmons,…)

- spectroscopic techniques

- plasmonics

- optoelectronic semi-conducting nano-devices: diodes, lasers, quantum cascade lasers…

- micro-resonators and quantum photonics

- new two-dimensional materials (graphene, dichalcogenides,...)
