Semiconductor Nanocrystals : Science and Technology
Moungi Bawendi (MIT, Cambridge, USA)

Jeudi 3 novembre 2005

Semiconductor nanocrystals that are synthesized using chemical means and that are in the nanometer size range show a wealth of interesting photophysical properties and interesting applications.

This talk will cover
- (1) aspects of their synthesis, processing, and incorporation into more complicated structures ;
- (2) their photophysics, concentrating on multiexciton processes both at the single nanocrystal level and at the ensemble level,
- (3) their applications as light emitters in biology and in displays.
