The first half of the course is common to both "quantum physics" and "physics of liquids" masters. The goal is to provide the foundations of non-equilibrium statistical physics. The fundamental connection between fluctuations and dissipation is first emphasized on the example of Langevin equation. The framework is subsequently enlarged to encompass stochastic, and irreversible processes (both from a macroscopic viewpoint, and microscopically with kinetic theory).
